Show what works so far

A bot with one working interaction gives people something to try. Say what it does, who it is for and which part you want feedback on. Add a short demo if it makes the idea clearer.

BB’s archive has examples of this pairing. In December 2019, a keyboard-tools demo reached the Store alongside a help article by its creator.

Ask about the part that is stuck

Explain what you expected, what happened and what you have tried. Include the smallest code example that reproduces the problem. Remove tokens and private details before sharing code or screenshots.

Write the missing step

Correct a confusing sentence, explain a button or show how you solved a problem. Include the screen or context so someone else can follow it.

Community translation requests have ranged from app language files to just two interface phrases.

Try the change

Choose an action, repeat the steps and report the result. A useful test report says where the behaviour differed from what you expected.

For its VS Code extension, BB asked for tests and task descriptions, then credited a community developer in a release. There is work to do around the code as well as inside it.

Bring it to the chat

Start with what you are making or the question you want to work through. If you would rather read first, see what others are building and join a conversation that interests you.
