Season 2: Growth Battle

Everyone starts a fresh season score

Growth Battle reset current season progress while keeping lifetime MetaL history. Announced on 6 April, the race ran from 7 April to 7 May 2026. This time, the leaderboard measured growth within the season.

The prize pool was $500: $250 for first, $120 for second, $60 for third and seven $10 awards. The rules required five active MetaL days and allowed disqualification for suspicious activity.

Two changes at the top

The early report published on 11 April put anu ahead of upl. On 20 April, upl took the lead. Both showed about 1.0K MetaL, but upl held the higher position.

By 30 April, anu was back in first at 2.0K. A third contender, mhd, had climbed into the top three. On 5 May, mhd passed upl to take second.

What brings users back?

On the final morning, one participant made a case for the less glamorous side of building: getting people to return. They described themselves as a developer and argued that a bot’s value came from regular use as well as the code behind it.

The question kept coming up in the chat: what should the score reward?

“Finish!” arrived on 7 May. The leaderboard kept anu first, mhd second and upl third. These are the source’s masked entries and rounded scores.

A prize reaches thirteenth place

The award poster extended beyond the top ten. Three rows were marked “skipped”; the poster said some participants had not supplied a wallet address. A $10 reward reached the thirteenth row.

Later that day, BB announced its tenth birthday and confirmed that $500 in Season 2 rewards had been sent.
