26 June: everyone gets a pause

On 26 June, an announcement put the BB chat into temporary read-only mode. The organizer cited the delay in finishing the competition, political games and “emotional overheating”.

The results review had turned into arguments about traffic, administrator roles and trust. The day before the pause, the organizer had asked members to stop another round of admin wars and treat one another with respect.

The argument had several sides

Members questioned whether MetaL rewarded the right work and whether the results could be trusted. The organizer defended the review and, earlier in June, had explicitly said that criticism of BB was allowed. Personal insults were the line it drew.

“Boys, you’ve been really naughty.”

That afternoon, a theatrical red-and-black poster appeared in the channel. It announced that the next season’s prize pool was being halved to $250, with a warning to behave. Mel delivered the message from a swing, dressed for the occasion.

The $250 figure belongs to that June announcement; the next season’s current dates and rewards remain unconfirmed.

Two days later, the final Season 3 post recorded $570 in rewards for seventeen participants.

And then, a movie recommendation

On 5 July, one member wrote that the chat would open soon. By 10 July, ordinary conversation was back. One builder asked for a movie recommendation; a reply suggested October Sky or Life Is Beautiful.

After prize disputes and admin arguments, the chat had found a smaller decision to make: what to watch tonight.
