Give the bot a moment
On 4 October 2024, a community member asked BB to reduce or delay the ads that appeared as people began using a bot. The request was about the opening moments: let a person try the bot before interrupting them.
The owner replied within five minutes, welcomed the idea and considered keeping ads away for the first 10–30 seconds. At that point, it was a suggestion for a pause.
June brought a bigger change
On 10 June 2025, BB announced that ads had been removed from the bot start command. New users could begin using a bot without an ad appearing immediately.
The release went further than the short delay discussed in October.
Then BB looked at the waiting
On 17 July, a separate update addressed slow replies at the same starting point. BB said it had seen bots making slow HTTP requests in the main /start flow and announced that those requests would run in the background automatically.
